March 31, 2023 - Today is the day I begin the process of releasing Loving Diverse Minds, Leading Diverse Hearts: the Way to a Humanistic Future (title change on April 7, 2023 downloads).

I am releasing digital copies of my book in parts to supporters of the crowdfund. Full copies will be available to other readers later.

April 7, 2023, update: The preface and the book introduction are live!!! They are available to everyone who contributed to the book crowdfund.

The current version of the preface is a revision from last week. The revision has a new book title - Loving Diverse Minds, Leading Diverse Hearts: the Way to a Humanistic Future.

Thank you for rocking with me through the process of publishing Loving Diverse Minds, Leading Diverse Hearts: the Way to a Humanistic Future.

Life is truly life-ing right now in ways that are slowing down my publishing process. For example, the Leading Diverse Hearts section needs more time and attention before posting.

I do not want to fill your email box with messages about updates and about delays of my self-imposed deadlines.

The next email you will receive from me will be the one announcing all pages of the book have been posted on Gumroad. I will post new content, which you can access the moment I post, but contact you only after all pages are posted. I will take about the next two weeks to bring the entire process to its end, sending no emails until then.

In the meantime you can engage with unpublished excerpts from the book through our  book club  (formerly referred to as the book forum). Go  here  for the most recent book club post on Substack.

The second book on decolonizing neurodivergence is breaking important ground. The second book's focus on neurodiversity as a leadership principle challenges most other leadership models. I am developing a new model to reflect the neurodiverse society in which we actually live. 

But, I need time and quiet to just write. 

I need time to bring together all my notes since the first book, to weave in all I have learned from recent historical events and to shop for a publishing agent. 

My writing is an important part of my social activism. In the recent past, writing books has been a struggle because I did not think to ask for help from those who are already supporting me.

As you know, I run a business; a business that depends heavily on my time and labor. So, to support my family as I write, I have to buy out my own time. Your support will allow me to both write and meet my obligations.

Decolonizing Neurodivergence: from Violence to Love is the foundation upon which I am building my new work about neurodiversity, leadership and decolonizing neurodivergence.

Decolonizing Neurodivergence (the existing book that you can download at the end of this process) is for anyone who may be working with neurodivergent people (ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities, bipolar disorder and others): clergy, healthcare professionals, social workers, law enforcement, government officials and others.

• The book cover and table of contents are attached.
• The book contains 55 pages. It is in a pdf format you can download on paper or fill in on your device.
• Learning outcomes are supported by activities, reading materials and references in the workbook. The workbook includes a multi-disciplinary reading list, a community assets/liabilities mapping exercise, a user-experience mapping exercise and a needs/behavior exercise.

Learning Outcomes (you will be able to: )

1. Listen to and validate the experiences of neurodivergent people.
2. Recognize your resistance to real relationship and connection to neurodivergent people.
3. Identify core assumptions about neurodivergent people that are rooted in colonizing thinking.
4. Review and remove policies, practices and programs driven by colonizing thinking.
5. Consider new policies, practices and programs guided by respect for personhood.
